American Academy for Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine (AACPDM) Advanced Practice Provider Neurology (NP or PA)

Position Responsibilities:

  • Rehabilitation and neurological management with physician oversight.
  • APP must demonstrate knowledge and be familiar with the broad scope of rehabilitation and neurological principles.
  • Performs physical exams, initial and interim histories during clinic visits, admissions, discharges, and consultations.
  • APP should be comfortable learning procedures (i.e. baclofen pump refills, assist with botulinum toxin injections, interrogate vagal nerve stimulators).
  • Documents notes and findings to the electronic medical record for patient encounters.
  • Assists in research projects and educating students and residents rotating through the rehabilitation and neurology clinics.
  • Assists and supports the nursing staff with clinical questions/issues, prescriptions, follow-ups, consults, etc.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Must be a graduate of an AMA/CAHEA approved PA program or NP program.
  • Current NCCPA certification and Baccalaureate degree required.
  • Texas State Board of Physician Assistant Examiners Licensure.
  • Advanced Practice Nurse must hold a current Texas APRN License and have graduated from a MSN program recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing Examiners.
  • Previous pediatric and/or rehabilitation/neurology clinical experience preferred.

Work Schedule and Hours of Work:
Monday - Friday | 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
