Advanced Practice Provider Neurology (NP or PA)
Position Responsibilities:
- Rehabilitation and neurological management with physician oversight.
- APP must demonstrate knowledge and be familiar with the broad scope of rehabilitation and neurological principles.
- Performs physical exams, initial and interim histories during clinic visits, admissions, discharges, and consultations.
- APP should be comfortable learning procedures (i.e. baclofen pump refills, assist with botulinum toxin injections, interrogate vagal nerve stimulators).
- Documents notes and findings to the electronic medical record for patient encounters.
- Assists in research projects and educating students and residents rotating through the rehabilitation and neurology clinics.
- Assists and supports the nursing staff with clinical questions/issues, prescriptions, follow-ups, consults, etc.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Must be a graduate of an AMA/CAHEA approved PA program or NP program.
- Current NCCPA certification and Baccalaureate degree required.
- Texas State Board of Physician Assistant Examiners Licensure.
- Advanced Practice Nurse must hold a current Texas APRN License and have graduated from a MSN program recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing Examiners.
- Previous pediatric and/or rehabilitation/neurology clinical experience preferred.
Work Schedule and Hours of Work:
Monday - Friday | 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
