Message from Stephanie C. DeLuca, PhD
I am a developmental scientist who Co-Directs the Neuromotor Research Clinic at Virginia Tech Carilion Research Institute and Assistant Professor in Pediatrics and Psychology (Virginia Tech) and Rehabilitation and Wellness (Jefferson College of Health Sciences). I previously served as founding Director of the UAB Neuromotor Research Clinic which provided intensive therapy services to children from around the world for 13 years. For more than 25 years, she has helped develop and rigorously test both pediatric and adult rehabilitation treatments, including co-leading the first randomized controlled trial of constraint-induced movement therapy (CIMT) for children with cerebral palsy. I currently is Co-PI on two NIH-funded multisite comparative effectiveness trials. My career has focused on interdisciplinary research efforts, engagement of families, international training, and innovative teaching to prepare the next generation of clinicians and scientists.
