Pediatric Physiatrist within the Division of Pediatric Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

Phoenix Children’s is seeking talented, energetic and collegial Pediatric Physiatrists to join the Division of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R). The Division of PM&R, a key division within Barrow Neurological Institute at Phoenix Children’s, is comprised of an expert team of fellowship-trained pediatric PM&R physicians and nurse practitioners who provide comprehensive, multidisciplinary care, allowing children to achieve their optimal level of independence.

The ideal candidates will have a broad base of clinical knowledge and strong interest in program development, specifically growth of inpatient and outpatient programs as Phoenix Children’s continues to expand services and capability.

  • Clinical work includes the inpatient rehabilitation unit, the inpatient PM&R consult service, outpatient physiatry clinic and other multidisciplinary clinics.
  • There are opportunities to expand clinical services in the area of injection therapy and EMG/NCV.
  • All providers in the Division of PM&R are employed by the Hospital organization under Phoenix Children’s Medical Group (PCMG) which has its own management structure. PCMG consists of 30 divisions that work collaboratively with each other and with Hospital administration under a Shared Governance model.
  • The Division of PM&R has the only fellowship-trained pediatric physiatrists in the state.
  • Barrow Neurological Institute at Phoenix Children’s includes the neuroscience divisions of PM&R, neurosurgery, neurology, psychology, psychiatry, and neuropsychology, providing opportunities for collaboration in patient care, education and research.
  • Phoenix Children’s actively encourages participation in and provides support for clinical research at all levels of the organization.
  • Phoenix Children’s main academic partner is the University of Arizona College of Medicine, where Phoenix Children’s physicians constitute the Department of Child Health. Phoenix Children’s has several other University affiliations including Mayo Clinic, Arizona State University, and Creighton University College of Medicine.
  • Opportunities for teaching and academic leadership, as Phoenix Children’s is a clinical site rotation for the only PM&R residency program in the area.
