American Academy for Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine (AACPDM) AACPDM Announces the 2026 Annual Award Recipients

AACPDM offers several awards each year to honor the accomplishments of the outstanding members who make up our growing Academy. These awards are an opportunity to formally recognize professionals who have made a significant contribution to the field of developmental medicine.

Annual Award recipients will be recognized at the 2026 Annual Meeting held in Philadelphia, PA, on September 27-30, 2026. 

Congratulations to the following recipients:

  • Mentorship Award - Hank Chambers, MD

This award recognizes an individual who has demonstrated outstanding leadership for trainees and colleagues in the field of developmental medicine, specifically with cerebral palsy and other developmental disabilities.

  • Corbett Ryan Pathways Pioneer Award - Sandra Karina Carnal

This award is given to a person representing excellence while pursuing their interests, dreams, and a high quality of life who also live with personal physical challenges.

  • Fred P. Sage Award - Ramiro Olleac, MD

The Fred P. Sage Award is given to the best multimedia submission presenting clinical, research, or educational material in a digital format.

  • Lifetime Achievement Award - Iona Novak

This award is presented to a special presidential guest lecturer selected by the First Vice President. During their lifetime, the recipient of this award has made creative contributions of outstanding significance to the field of medicine and for the benefit of patients with cerebral palsy and other childhood-onset disabilities.
