Function/Duties of Position
This position is under the administration of the Director of the Institute on Development & Disability and the CDRC Discipline Director of Physical Therapy. The duties of this position are in support of the missions, goals, and objectives of OHSU and the IDD, inclusive of teaching, research, and service. The physical therapist (PT) in this position will function as a clinical leader in his/her areas of expertise, and contribute to program development and quality improvement.
The specific duties of this position include:
Clinical Service (100%)
Direct Clinical (80%): The physical therapist in this position will provide physical therapy diagnostic evaluation, treatment and consultative services for patients of the Child Development and Rehabilitation Center, participating in CDRC’s interdisciplinary clinics. The PT will be responsible for evaluation, team collaboration, and family feedback. The PT will conduct single discipline evaluations and treatment for referred patients. The PT will participate in clinical education of pre-licensure physical therapy students, mentoring of the pediatric physical therapy resident, and participate in the education of other practicum students, interns, residents and fellows who participate in training in the CDRC programs.
Indirect Clinical (20%): The PT in this position ensures timely completion of clinical documentation and responsiveness to clinical requests. The PT participates in other activities appropriate to the discipline, and consistent with the mission and goals of IDD, CDRC and OHSU. Such activities include, but are not limited to, clinical documentation, consultation and technical assistance to families, community agencies and providers, serving on agency and university committees, and participation in departmental meetings and in-service presentations. Additional activities may include engaging in research appropriate to physical therapy, including collaborative research with other faculty.
•The Physical Therapist will hold a minimum of a master degree in PT.
•The candidate will have graduated from an accredited school of physical therapy, and will hold an Oregon license to practice physical therapy.
•Prefer a PT with a minimum of two years pediatric clinical experience serving children with complex conditions.
•Prefer a PT with experience working on interdisciplinary teams, using a family-centered model of care.
•Prefer a PT committed to training and a spirit of inquiry.
